Liga Mexicana de BéisbolMexican League 2027 (LMB): Teams, Zones, Ballparks and the Serie del Rey
The Mexican League 2027, officially the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol or LMB, is Mexico's summer professional circuit: 20 clubs, a North and a South zone, and a season that ends with the Serie del Rey. This guide covers the format, every team and ballpark, the 2026 champion, the 2027 schedule that has not been published yet, and how to plan a visit.
Mexican League 2027: format and season length
The Liga Mexicana de Béisbol is the top summer league in Mexico. Twenty clubs are split into two zones of ten, and in the most recent format each team plays 114 regular-season games. The best clubs move on to playoff rounds that narrow the field until two finalists meet in the Serie del Rey.
When the Mexican League 2027 is played
The league normally starts in late March or April and runs through the summer, finishing as the season closes. No 2027 dates have been announced: not the opener, not the closing weekend, not the series-by-series calendar. Until the league publishes its official schedule, treat any date you see circulating as a guess.
Why the Mexican League feels different from MLB
Expect a more intimate setting, with drums, chants, vendors working the aisles and crowds that treat every home stand as a festival. If you are used to the big-league experience, compare it with the MLB 2027 season, which opens on March 25, 2027.
North and South zones of the Mexican League 2027
The LMB divides its teams into a North zone and a South zone, ten clubs each. The split cuts travel and keeps regional rivalries alive: northern clubs face each other across Coahuila, Nuevo León and Chihuahua, while the south revolves around Yucatán, Tabasco, Campeche and Quintana Roo.
The North zone of the Mexican League
North covers Monclova, Torreón, Durango, Zapopan, Chihuahua, Aguascalientes, Saltillo, Monterrey, the Dos Laredos and Tijuana. Distances are long, from the California border to the west-central highlands, and the ballparks differ a lot in size and feel.
The South zone of the Mexican League
South covers León, Querétaro, Mexico City, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Mérida, Villahermosa, Puebla, Campeche and Cancún. This is the hottest and most humid part of the circuit, where night games are welcome and a hat, sunscreen and water are essential.
Zone assignments can change from year to year, so check the final layout once the Mexican League 2027 schedule is out.

Ballpark details worth knowing in the LMB
The Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos are one of a kind: they represent Nuevo Laredo and Laredo, Texas, and split home games between Parque La Junta and Uni-Trade Stadium on either side of the border. The Diablos Rojos play at the Alfredo Harp Helú in the capital, and the Charros de Jalisco at the Panamericano in Zapopan. Always confirm which park hosts your series before you travel.
Serie del Rey: the Mexican League finals
The Serie del Rey is the best-of-seven final that crowns the LMB champion. Only one team lifts the trophy, but the whole season builds toward it: qualifiers from the zones work through the playoffs and the last club standing takes the title.
How a team reaches the Serie del Rey
The top clubs from the regular season advance to elimination rounds played as series. The final usually pairs a champion from each zone, though that is not guaranteed, since it depends on who survives the bracket.
Tickets for the Serie del Rey and the playoffs
Demand jumps once the postseason starts. Playoff and finals tickets tend to go on sale on short notice and sell out fast in smaller parks. If a deciding game is your goal, join the alert on this page, and compare formats with our notes on the MLB postseason.
Mexican League 2026 champion: Toros de Tijuana
The Toros de Tijuana won the 2026 title by beating the Olmecas de Tabasco 4-2 in the Serie del Rey. It was the third championship in franchise history and cemented Tijuana as one of the strongest clubs in northern Mexico. The Toros play at Toros Mobil Park, minutes from the California border.
The Mexican League runner-up: Olmecas de Tabasco
Tabasco came out of the South zone and pushed the champions through a tough series. Villahermosa and its Estadio Centenario 27 de Febrero are among the most traditional stops in the league.
What the 2026 title means for the Mexican League 2027
A title brings prestige, but every season starts from zero. Rosters change between campaigns, so do not assume the 2026 team is the 2027 team. What does carry over is each city's identity and its fans.
Mexican League 2027 schedule: not published yet
As of October 11, 2026 the league has not released its 2027 calendar. There is no confirmed opening date, no series-by-series plan and no game times. The usual pattern is a start between late March and April and a finish in summer, but that is history, not an announcement.
What to watch for when the LMB 2027 schedule drops
- The opening date and each team's series order.
- Which zone every club lands in.
- Any special games or showcase series.
- The playoff structure and Serie del Rey format.
Keeping the Mexican League apart from other tournaments
Mexico has a summer league, winter leagues and international events such as the Caribbean Series 2027. Always check which competition a ticket is for before booking travel.
Mexican League 2027 tickets: how to plan your visit
Tickets usually go through the club's official box office and its authorized sales channels. Prices and on-sale dates depend on the club and are not published for 2027, so we give no figures here.
Tips for watching a Mexican League game
- Pick a weekend series for the best atmosphere.
- Arrive early: snacks, cold drinks and drums start at the gate.
- In the south, bring sun protection and plan for heat.
- Check start times with the club the day before, since rain can move a game.
Visiting a Mexican League game from abroad
From the United States, Tijuana, the Dos Laredos and Monterrey are the easiest entry points. For wider context on baseball across the region, see the World Baseball Classic guide and our travel guides.
Mexican Pacific League: winter ball beside the Mexican League
When the LMB summer ends, the spotlight moves to the Liga Mexicana del Pacífico (LMP), the winter circuit of the Pacific coast and the northwest. Ten clubs played in 2025-26: Águilas de Mexicali, Algodoneros de Guasave, Cañeros de Los Mochis, Charros de Jalisco, Jaguares de Nayarit, Mayos de Navojoa, Naranjeros de Hermosillo, Tomateros de Culiacán, Venados de Mazatlán and Yaquis de Obregón.
Mexican Pacific League champion and schedule
The Charros de Jalisco won 2025-26 with a 4-0 sweep of the Tomateros de Culiacán, in a season that ran from mid-October 2025 to late January 2026. The 2026-27 roster of clubs and dates are not verified; the LMP usually opens in mid-October.
Why the Mexican Pacific League matters
Its champion represents Mexico at the Caribbean Series, which makes the LMP the gateway to the region's biggest international tournament.
